Based in embassies around the globe, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) provides advice and education for the nation’s businesses on how to export internationally, and then supports them on the ground whilst they establish themselves.
With a field of expertise encompassing everything from medical technology to the country’s legendary wine, NZTE needed a way to provide no-nonsense information across a range of very different sectors, whilst promoting their work in a manner that remained relevant to all.
Through interviews with exporting companies, trade commissioners – even the Consul General to India – I developed a range of case studies that highlighted NZTE’s success stories, each offering advice for those considering exportation. This was followed by a series of press articles tackling some of the specific challenges faced by companies exporting to regions that included Africa and The Middle East. The topics covered in this series included the Expo 2020 event in Dubai and the changing role of Saudi Arabia, both articles written for the New Zealand mainstream press, and a major feature on the nation’s work in the healthcare sector for Indian media. This article later formed the basis of a speech given by New Zealand’s Consul General to India, Ralph Hays, at a major health conference in Mumbai.
Result
NZTE’s work was highlighted and promoted, whilst important information was delivered in an easy to understand and interesting way across multiple, very different sectors, in a way that was relevant to all.
